How the free test works
- 36 questions in three parts, like the SERU: rules (multiple choice), sentence completion and reading short passages.
- The clock runs for 60 minutes. TfL says its SERU lasts about one hour (TfL Notice 06/25); it publishes no separate figure for the private hire test.
- You get a score for each part at the end. Aim for at least 60% in every part.
- Every question is our own, written from the TfL PHV Driver's Handbook and checked against current TfL rules. How we check our questions.
- One free attempt a day, no sign-up. The full course adds explanations, more mock exams and reading practice.
