How we write and check our questions
This course is made by MiniSage Tech Ltd, a small UK company (company 17229324, England and Wales). It is independent: TfL has not approved it, and our questions are not real exam questions.
Where the questions come from
TfL says the SERU is based on its PHV Driver's Handbook. We wrote every question ourselves, in our own words, from the handbook and from the current TfL rules and laws it describes. We do not copy the handbook text, other courses or real exam questions. A script checks that no question repeats long runs of handbook wording.
How we checked all 300 questions
- Each question, its correct answer and its wrong options were read against the full handbook. Reading passages were checked to make sure the question can be answered from the passage alone.
- Because the handbook dates from 2021, every fact that could have changed was checked against the rules in force on 15 October 2026: TfL's driver policy (version 6.0, 1 September 2026), TfL's licence, ULEZ and Congestion Charge pages, and the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998.
- Where the law now differs from the handbook, the question follows the current rule and the explanation says what changed. Example: a driver has 6 days to show the licence to the police (Act, section 21); the handbook says 7.
- Questions about the Highway Code, accidents, penalty notices and equality law were checked against those rules.
Last full check: 15 October 2026. We re-check the bank against TfL's policy every three months, and whenever TfL publishes a change. If you spot a mistake, use the report button on any question in the course, or email support@seru-course.co.uk.
What we do not claim
TfL does not publish the number of questions, the time limit or the pass mark for the private hire SERU. Where we give figures, we say they are reported by candidates. We do not promise that you will pass, and we do not publish pass rates.
